Sports

Physical activity is essential for children’s health and well-being, and we know that children are more likely to stay active if they enjoy their experiences in school. That’s why we create a fun and supportive environment in all our PE lessons and sports clubs, ensuring every child participates and has a great time. But we also strive for excellence; our competitive sports teams have enjoyed success in local and borough-wide competitions.

Our youngest students engage in daily activities that develop their gross motor skills. Our playgrounds are equipped with apparatus that helps them build strength, balance, and coordination, and our skilled staff are there to guide and encourage them. As children progress through the school, they learn a variety of sports and skills, from gymnastics and dance to football and basketball.

We partner with Greenhouse Sports to provide first-class sports coaching. From Year 1 onwards, children are taught by specialist PE coaches who focus not just on physical skills, but also on developing social, thinking, emotional, and leadership skills through sports.

In addition to regular PE lessons, we welcome cricket coaches from Lord’s during the summer, and our students visit the Queen Mother Sports Centre for swimming lessons. We place a high value on swimming, so we offer more lessons than most schools, ensuring all children receive the support and challenge they need to become confident swimmers, regardless of their prior experience.

We offer numerous sporting clubs during lunch and after school, and in the summer, even before school. Our PE coaches also organise various competitions throughout the year, from traditional sports days to events linked to major international tournaments. Our school participates in local sports events on weekends, like the London Mini-Marathon and Run Battersea Run, which make for great family outings. We’re proud of our achievements in local competitions, where our hard work often pays off!
