Pastoral Care

At Pimlico Primary, we put our children’s well-being and safety at the centre of everything we do. We want them to be happy both at school and beyond, and we're here to help them grow into confident, resilient young people.

We've designed a variety of activities to make every school day engaging and meaningful. Whether it’s reading with younger pupils, joining lunchtime sports clubs, or performing in school assemblies, we offer experiences that help children live fulfilling and joyful lives.

We understand the importance of building positive relationships. Each child has a dedicated form teacher who looks after their well-being and serves as the main point of contact between school and home. Our form teachers get to know each child individually, understand their interests, and connect with their families. In addition to their form teacher, children interact with various teachers, teaching assistants, and support staff who all contribute to their care. This ensures that there are always people available for children to turn to if they need support or advice.

For those who need extra help developing social and emotional skills, we provide additional mentoring. Since 2019, we have worked with the charity MIND to offer support for our children in a range of different ways. The project, delivered in partnership with the NHS, has seen Educational Mental Health Practitioners trained and placed in schools. We are very fortunate to have a wonderful EMHP called Michelle in our school. Michelle has supported across the school by running parent workshops, taking children for group work, supporting staff, running whole-class sessions and much more.

We are supported by St Vincent’s Family Project who offer in-school support one day each week. Additionally, we are proud to participate in a programme with West London Zone, which helps children and young people build the relationships and skills they need to get on track socially, emotionally and academically to thrive in adulthood. They do this by building trusted relationships, providing specialist support and joining up each child’s support system, including families, schools and local organisations, to deliver a personalised 2-year support plan for each child.

Our staff are trained to offer focused support when needed. We believe that with the right help, every child can thrive and feel supported in their school community.
