Music
We offer a rich and diverse music program that every child can enjoy, fostering a lifelong love of music. From their first days at Pimlico Primary, students are taught by a specialist music teacher who guides them through a curriculum designed to build their knowledge, confidence, and creativity. They learn to sing, play various instruments, and even compose their own music.
There are regular singing assemblies in both Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2. The assemblies are led by our specialist music teacher and are an opportunity for the children to learn and perform a range of songs for enjoyment. It is also a time for children to listen and appraise music they have heard. Children also have the chance to showcase their singing skills in other achievement assemblies.
Our partnership with the Pimlico Music Foundation offers additional opportunities for students to perform, such as the opening performance of ‘SouthWestFest,’ the cultural festival for south Westminster. We support children interested in joining the Foundation’s choirs and other musical activities.
We’re lucky to be near many concert venues, and all our students attend performances at places like the Royal College of Music as part of our trips program. These outings introduce them to different musical styles and inspire them to explore their musical talents further.
